-the door that i am trying to make is a sliding door that opens upwards
The Door Problem
Q: What about allies making it through the doors?
This question made me think about who could open the doors and what should be able to open the doors themselves
Q: Can players open every door in the game
This question made me think about if i want to add fake doors or ones that are always locked. It also made me look back and think about if I liked having doors locked or blocked in games that I have played
Q:What size doors
This influenced me by making me think about who and what would be going through these doors and having to find out what max size they would need to be
The Other Door problem
Lighter: “There is a bright red light over the door when it’s locked, and a green one when it’s opened.”
This perspective made think about how i wanted to show that doors are locked or what they have on the other side of the doors
UI Designer: “There’s now an objective marker on the door, and it has its own icon on the map.”
This person made me think about if the doors should have indicators and made me think about if i should give the players maps with indicators.
Player: “I totally didn’t even notice a door there.”
this one made me think about where to place doors and if i should make them more eye catching
Blueprints
Problems
One Problem that I ran into was that the door would not fully close and would float when closed I fixed this by checking just the doors location not the door and collision box location then making sure it goes to the original position of the box.
What i learned on my own/With tutorials
One thing i learned on my own is how to make the doors rotate a direction not just move up, down, left, or right.
What I want to do
I want to make the door slowly slide up and back down instead of teleporting.
